Mario Goetze's agent confirms Man Utd interest

Mario Goetze's agent has revealed that Manchester United have made contact over the Borussia Dortmund playmaker.

The 19-year-old is a target for many of Europe's elite clubs, with Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid and several sides in Italy also believed to be keen on signing the teenager this year.

But according to Dirk Hebel, United are the only Premier League side to have made contact about a deal for his client.

Hebel told calciomercato.com: "I think in Europe all the top clubs are interested in Mario.

"I can confirm that I have had contact with Juventus and Manchester United, but not only them.

"I don't know if he'll go away after this season, you should ask Borussia. But I think that they will not let him leave for less than 40million euros.

"He still is very happy at Dortmund, though now he is injured."

Dortmund last month agreed a deal to sign Marco Reus from Borussia Monchengladbach. The playmaker, who has agreed a five-year contract and will move at the end of the season, is widely seen as a replacement for Goetze, who is under contract until 2014.
