Liverpool FC could have been handed a boost in their chase for Karim Benzema as Real Madrid have reportedly indicated that they are ready to part with the French striker.

The Reds are said to be on the lookout for a proven frontman and Benzema, with 125 goals in 269 games for Madrid, fits the bill. The French striker also scored three times in the two clashes with Liverpool earlier this season.

Real Madrid are said to be on the lookout for a new striker, and have turned their attentions to Radamel Falcao, currently on loan at Manchester United, after failing to agree a deal for Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero.

Liverpool have struggled for goals this season with Daniel Sturridge out injured. Recognised strikers Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini have just one Premier League goal between them this term.

Liverpool could be set to make a move for the man dubbed the 'new Sergio Aguero' according to reports today.

£12m-rated Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto is said to be interesting Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as he looks for a striker capable of adding goals to his team.

Argentina youth international Vietto has scored 12 goals in 23 games for the 'Yellow Submarine' since a £5m move in the summer transfer window and has attracted interest from some of Europe's biggest names, including Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

The Reds are reportedly ready to steal a march on their rivals by looking to sign the 21-year-old in January.

16-year-old Norwegian sensation Martin Odengaard is reportedly ready to send shock-waves across Europe by announcing his decision to move to Southampton.

Odengaard has been training at some of Europe's biggest clubs as he looks to secure his future upon leaving Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset, and last month toured Liverpool's Melwood training ground.

Odengaard, who has already made his international debut for Norway, was reportedly close to a move to Bayern Munich, but fresh reports today indicate that he will move to St Mary's because of Southampton's excellent record for bringing through young players.
