The rumours are gaining steam and in many instances credibility. It's the sweet spot for Transfer Talk, where literally anything is possible as the summer window nears closer to opening with each passing day.

Pep tracking Chelsea star

Chelsea may be cruising towards the Premier League title, but there are plenty of battles being fought behind closed doors at Stamford Bridge as Jose Mourinho plans an assault on the Champions League next year.

Central to those plans will be Branislav Ivanovic, who Jose hailed in February as one of the club's best-ever signings. The Serbian international, now 31, has stalled on committing to a new deal with the Blues, according to the Express, because of the club's policy of only offering their over 30's players 12-month contracts.

All of which has UCL rivals Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain very excited. Ivanovic is one of the few defenders in the world who is just as clinical in the opponents box as he is in his own.

Will Chelsea break their policy in order to keep Jose happy? Watch this space.

Lennon Everton move could become permanent

Aaron Lennon has enjoyed a good run of form since making a January loan move from Tottenham to Everton. Now the Express are reporting that Roberto Martinez is thinking about trying to make that move last a while longer.

"Aaron is enjoying his football and his contribution to the team has been significant," said the manager, who coyly insisted that any talk of a permanent move would have to wait until the summer.

Lennon could wind up in some kind of swap deal for Everton's Kevin Mirallas, who's been linked to a future just about everywhere but Goodison Park, despite recent comments that he's happy right where he is.

Classy Clasie in Koeman's sights

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman must loathe the summer transfer window.

After managing to navigate the Saints into seventh on the Premier League table, despite the club being shorn of five key players last year, the Dutch tactician looks like he'll need to oversee another off-season of transition as the big clubs once again line up to pick off his best players.

Good news, then, for fans on the south coast that Feyenoord captain Jordy Clasie has been linked with a move to St Mary's. The Mirror says that Koeman sees 23-year-old as an ideal replacement for want-away French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

The Saints will reportedly need to battle Newcastle for the £10m-rated-man's signature, with the Magpies ready to offer up Vurnon Anita as a makeweight.

Liverpool closing in on Nainggolan

Belgian international Radja Nainggolan could soon be plying his trade in the Premier League according to the Metro, as Roma cannot agree a fee with the player's co-owners Cagliari to relase him.

That means the central midfielder, who has drawn interest from Liverpool, could be on the move this summer after playing a big role in Rudi Garcia's Roma side this season.

The 26-year-old is valued around £29 million and could be a welcome addition to Liverpool should their summer clearance sale go on as reported.
'Chicharito' to stay at Real Madrid?

Javier Hernandez, on loan from Manchester United to Real Madrid this season, has an uncertain transfer future. But he made no doubt of his current club's future in the Champions League. Could that bode well for him with Los Blancos?

Tap-Ins

- Real Madrid Castilla manager Zinedine Zidane had eyes for a young Eden Hazard as far back as 2010, when the Belgian was still playing for Lille in Ligue 1. It seems the French legend is still keeping an eye on the Chelsea star, saying he enjoys everything Hazard does. No rumour here per se, just saying...

- Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt insists Sami Khedira will have plenty of interest from other clubs should he decide to not make a move back to his club or Dortmund. Khedira has been injured for much of the season and is certain to leave Real Madrid this summer. Rumours of a Schalke move have cooled in recent weeks as the club endure a swoon that could see them miss out on the Champions (and maybe even Europa) League next season.

- Denmark international Michael Krohn-Dehli has verbally agreed to join Sevilla when his Celta Vigo contract ends this summer, according to Ekstra Bladet.

- Dutch coach Frans Thijssen appears all-but-certain to leave Brisbane Roar at the end of the A-League season. Roar chairman Chris Fong was quoted by SBS saying: "We're going to have a fairly fresh approach next season and we'll get to (announce) that when we are ready.

"Frans has always been an interim coach and we're grateful for what he has done for the club."

- The Newcastle Herald reports that an Australian consortium is in the running to buy former Serie A club Reggina.
