LIVERPOOL have reportedly placed a £20million initial bid for Manchester United target Alexandre Lacazette. This is the latest LFC news

Lyon star Lacazette is expected to leave the club this summer, with PSG and United both following Liverpool plotting offers for the forward.

Reports in Spain today suggest Liverpool have stolen a lead over United, who were considered frontrunners to bag the France star.

He has scored 29 goals in 33 appearances this season and his arrival on Merseyside would all but end Mario Balotelli's stint at the club.

Indeed, Balotelli appears set to depart Anfield this summer, with Sampdoria ready to take him on board.

Balotelli has failed to impress since his £16m move from Milan last August - scoring just four goals all term.

The striker has been in and out of the first team and has made just three of manager Brendan Rodgers' last 13 first XIs - all three games that Liverpool failed to win.

Tuttosport believe Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero will make an offer for the Italy international before the transfer window officially opens.

One player not leaving the club this summer is Martin Skrtel, he says.

The defender is currently locked in contract negotiations but nothing has yet been finalised.

There were reports Inter want to prise him away from the Premier League but Skrtel insists he is committed to the Reds cause.

He said: "There is always talk about my position and my future.

"Almost every single transfer window there is always talk about myself leaving Liverpool and interest from other clubs.

"But as it stands, I still have a contract with Liverpool, I have an offer from Liverpool and we'll see where we finish [with those talks].

"I am fully committed to Liverpool."
