The Mirror claim the England international has set his heart on a move to Anfield, despite the interest of Arsenal.

Milner is out of contract at the end of the season and is still to accept City’s offer of an extension.

Manuel Pellegrini said he expects to get a final answer from the 29-year-old when the campaign comes to a close, but it now seems inevitable that he will leave the Etihad.

Milner has opted for a move Merseyside over Arsenal because he won't have to uproot his family from the north west.

His contract situation has been one of the sagas of the season, with his refusal to commit to City understood to relate to his determination to play regular first team football.

Meanwhile defender Dedryck Boyata has reportedly held talks with Celtic over a move this summer.

With on-loan Jason Denayer set to return to the Etihad after a season at Celtic Park, Boyata has emerged as the man the Scottish giants want to replace him, according to the Herald.
