JUVENTUS and Chile midfielder is on the verge of joining Real Madrid, according to South American football expert Tim Vickery.

It has been suggested that the 28-year-old has agreed personal terms with La Liga giants Real Madrid and will sign a five-year contract with the Spanish juggernauts.

And according to Vickery, the former Colo Colo star is close to penning a contract with Los Blancos.

“You could see him doing well in the Premier League,” Vickery told talkSPORT.

"But word in the Chilean press is that the only thing lacking for him to join Real Madrid is his signature on the paper.

Vickery's statement regarding Vidal's future will be a hammer blow to Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester United.

Both clubs are understood to be interested in landing the Old Lady star, who helped guide Chile to the Copa America glory yesterday evening.

However, they still could land the coveted midfielder as according to Juve's general director, Giuseppe Marotta, last season's Champions League finalists have not agreed a deal to sell Chilean.

“Vidal to Madrid and Llorente to Sevilla?” Marotta said earlier this week.

“We haven’t received any offers from those teams."
