JOSE MOURINHO didn't speak to his Manchester United players after their FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea, according to Nemanja Matic.

Eden Hazard's first-half penalty was enough to separate the sides at Wembley, and leave former Blues boss without a trophy in his second season at Old Trafford.

Mourinho aimed a thinly-veiled at his old side after the clash, insisting Antonio Conte's defensive manner made Chelsea unworthy winners of the match.

But the Portuguese coach clearly didn't have anything to say to his players in the dressing room at full-time.
"We didn't speak with him [after the match]," Matic said.

"But I think he saw the game in the same way.

"He saw that we played good football, especially the second half we controlled the ball all the time so he must be happy with how we played, how we organised in the game.

"But of course, when you lose the game, we are not happy."

United also struggled to cope with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the Premier League this term, and a major squad overhaul is now expected at Old Trafford this summer.

And Matic has made a desperate plea to the club officials to back Mourinho this summer.

"I think with a few more good players in the squad we can fight for the title, of course, and I'm sure we will do it," he added.
