The 22-year-old is a target for a number of Premier League clubs after making a sueprb start to the season, with Liverpool also showing interest in the Netherlands international.

United assistant manager Mike Phelan recently admitted that the Red Devils are monitoring the Dutchman ahead of the transfer window reopening next month, while reports in both England and Portugal have suggested that Chelsea have sent scouts to watch the forward in action for his club.

But Van Wolfswinkel has again stated that he is happy at Sporting, telling Dutch radio station NOS: "It is good that my name was linked to big clubs such as Manchester United and others in England, but I am really content and happy at Sporting.

"Things are excellent in every sense. I play for a good club and I am scoring goals because I am taking this satisfaction on to the pitch."
