Liverpool and Chelsea plotting £15 million raid for Arsenal’s Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott

With the additions of wide players Gervinho and Alex Oslade-Chamberlain in 2011-12 for Arsenal, the place of England international Theo Walcott began to become strained for the first time in his career since truly making a move to permanent place in the first eleven.
The summer of 2012 has already seen the additions of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud at the front. That being true, the talented 23-year-old England international looks to be feeling the heat. Despite having a great showing for England at the UEFA European Championship this summer he could be on the outs from the Emirates stadium.
The Daily Mail and The Sun are both reporting that Walcott has become the subject of potential moves from both Chelsea and Liverpool. Chelsea is the closets move but there is not a huge opportunity for first team action at Stamford Bridge.
However, the option to move to Liverpool presents itself as a massive opportunity for the young player. The Reds are in need of talent and pace on the wings, and the departures of both Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt have left the right side wide open for Walcott.
If Brendan Rodgers could pull off the signing of Walcott it would be a massive deal for the Reds and could be one piece of the puzzle that truly begins to turn the Anfield ship around and back towards the top of English football.
