In today's transfer market, no deal goes off in a
vacuum.
Case in point: the first item in today's B/R
Transfer Tracker.
Everybody knows Manchester City want Arsenal's Robin
van Persie and that Carlos Tevez has been linked with a move away from the
Etihad Stadium for months.
But how is AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic involved?
Find out inside, where there are also updates on
Christian Eriksen, Laurent Koscielny and Luciano Narsingh.
Carlos Tevez's long-discussed move to AC Milan is
apparently back on. What's more, it's apparently part of an international web
of transfer intrigue.
First the basics.
Tevez remains a transfer target for Milan, according
to the player's agent (Sky Sport Italia, via ESPNSoccernet).
Tevez, a 28-year-old Argentine forward who currently plays for Manchester City,
has been linked with Milan since at least the previous winter transfer window.
Now the intrigue.
According to the Daily
Mail, Tevez is not only a target of Milan, but is
already set for a move this week. If the move goes through, it would allow City
to acquire Dutch striker Robin van Persie from Arsenal.
RvP has been included in Arsenal's team for a
preseason tour of Asia (Daily Mirror).
Meanwhile, Brazilian defender Thiago Silva has completed his move from Milan to Paris
Saint-Germain, with forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic possibly also moving (The Guardian). The sale of both would
presumably fund Milan's potential move for Tevez.
Real Madrid expect to sign Croatian midfielder Luka
Modric from Tottenham "in the next 48 hours," according to The Sun.
Modric, 26, would cost about £35 million.
Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen wants to know
from Ajax whether Manchester United are interested in signing him (Daily Mirror).
Eriksen, 20, is reportedly the subject of interest
from two clubs. One is thought to be Zenit St. Petersburg, and Eriksen
reportedly wants a "dream" move to United.
Ajax value Eriksen around £20 million.
Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is a Barcelona
target, according to reports in France (cited by Metro).
Koscielny, 26, joined Arsenal from Lorient in 2010
and had a breakthrough campaign last season. His current contract expires in
2014.
PSV Eindhoven are close to signing Dutch winger
Luciano Narsingh from Heerenveen, according to Dutch reports (cited byGoal.com).
Voetbal International reports that the clubs
have agreed a €4.5 million fee for Narsingh, 21.
Narsingh has earned two senior caps for Holland.
