Hughes hails midfielder Ramsey for winning over the Arsenal crowd

Mark Hughes believes Aaron Ramsey is now playing the best football of his Arsenal career after saluting the 'courage' he showed in winning over the Emirates' crowd.
Stoke City's boss has paid tribute to his compatriot, acknowledging the way that the midfielder has battled through a difficult time at the club last season.
Hughes stayed in London following his sacking by QPR and was often a visitor to Arsenal throughout the second half of last season.
One of the best: Mark Hughes has praised Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey
And he said for Ramsey to turn the crowd onto his side was a major achievement.
He said: 'He's an outstanding player, now doing exceptionally well - he's adding goals to his technical ability which he has not been able to do.
'I watched Arsenal a few times last season and I thought he was struggling with his form and on occasions the crowd at Arsenal lost patience with him. For him to show the courage to come back from that is credit to him.'

Hughes said that he hoped Sunday's fixture would see an end to the constant baiting between the two sets of fans following the tackle by Ryan Shawcross three years ago that shattered Ramsey's ankle.
Stoke's boss added: 'It's been a long time. Everyone acknowledges people need to move on. It's difficult because every time that Stoke play Arsenal it's brought up against us. It's one of those things that can happen.

'Thankfully Aaron has returned now and he's probably playing at a higher level than he was when he suffered his injury.'
