The manager of the Catalan club already has a host of attacking options in Lionel Messi, Christian Tello, Pedro, Alexis Sanchez and Neymar.
The Spanish champions paid £50 million to Brazilian club Santos for Neymar's signature this summer but Martino is looking to bring in a 'traditional' striker to complement his highly-talented technically-gifted strikeforce, according to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish daily claims the Barca boss is after the 'next Henrik Larsson', who played for the Catalans between 2004 and 2006.
The Swedish international proved to be a success for Barcelona during his two season at the Camp Nou after joining the club on a free transfer from Scottish outfit Celtic.
Klose's contract with Lazio expires in June 2014 and the Italian club have yet to extend his deal meaning the Serie A side will have to sell him in January to avoid losing him for free at the end of the season.
