Mourinho set for personal scouting trip on Falcao... but Chelsea face competition from United and Real Madrid for £60m hotshot

Most wanted: Radamel Falcao joined Monaco last summer but is being targeted by a trio of big clubs
Jose Mourinho will head to Brussels on Thursday to watch Radamel Falcao in action for Colombia ahead of a potential £60million January move for the Monaco striker.
But Manchester United could provide competition for Chelsea in the race to sign the former Atletico Madrid star. The Premier League champions are also set to send scouts to the international friendly in Belgium this week.
Chelsea remain favourites so sign Falcao ahead of United due to the relsationship between Mourinho and Jorge Mendes, who is the agent for both the Blues boss and the striker.

But Real Madrid are also ready to match any January bid, with the Spanish giants having admired Falcao for several years while he was scoring goals for fun with rivals Atletico. Luis Suarez remains their alternative target.
Chelsea have a more pressing need to land a top striker having missed out on Wayne Rooney in the summer and being forced to settle with veteran Samuel Eto'o.

And Falcao would be eligible to play in the Champions League this season, making him even more of an attractive prospect.
United must keep their options open in case Rooney revives his desire to leave Old Trafford next summer, but are unlikely to submit a bid in January.
Falcao only moved to Monaco last summer for a whopping £50m, but it is looking increasingly likely that the LIgue 1 outfit will be able to keep hold of their prized asset, despite the megabucks he is earning in the French tax haven.
