- Dick Advocaat believes Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman could be on his way to Manchester United.

Advocaat, who managed Strootman at PSV last season, told Algemeen Dagblad: "Strootman is a pure professional. It frankly surprised me that he did not get to the absolute top last summer and was on the side a little.

"I do not think he will stay at Roma that long. If Kevin is at this level, he will be plucked away. And then it will be a team of the calibre of Manchester United."

- Liverpool have won the race to sign Derby’s Will Hughes, according to The Sun.

- Axel Witsel, who has previously been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, is still keen on joining a "big club", and admits he cannot see past the Premier League if and when he leaves Zenit St Petersburg.

- Nicklas Bendtner has told Politiken that he wants to join Barcelona or Real Madrid next year when he leaves Arsenal.

- Thibaut Courtois has been urged to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis if he wants to become the best goalkeeper in the world.

Courtois is on loan at Atletico Madrid for a third season after impressing in Spain over the last two years, and Atletico defender Toby Alderweireld believes his highly-rated compatriot needs to quit Chelsea permanently.

"He is very smart and I think it would be a good choice for him to maybe stay with Atletico, or go to another club where he will be number one," the Belgian centre-back told Sky Sports.

"He does not want to sit on the bench for eight games then play for one. I don't think he has a weak point and I think he can be the best keeper in the world. He is good with the ball, he is good with his feet and he is great on his line.

"I see him in training every day and I see him in games and I doubt there are any keepers better than him."

- And Eden Hazard believes Chelsea team-mate Kevin De Bruyne should also leave Stamford Bridge if he wants to play regular first-team football.

- Aly Cissokho has told Liverpool's official website that he wants to make his loan move from Valencia a permanent one next summer.
