Tello to Liverpool FC? Baines to Man Utd? Arsenal FC new signing?

- Liverpool are the bookmakers' favourites to sign Cristian Tello from Barcelona this month.

And according to Marca, Liverpool are close to agreeing a six-month loan for Tello with a view to making the deal permanent at the end of the season.

- Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has agreed a ‘first option’ deal for Derby County’s Will Hughes, according to the Daily Mirror.

- Liverpool also want to sign Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, according to the Daily Star.

- Arsene Wenger has hinted that Arsenal could make a new signing during this month's transfer window - but only for a "special" player.

"I don't know if we will do anything. We are on alert and if something special comes up we will not turn it down," he said.

"We are not desperate because we have a big depth in the squad, we have shown that. The midfield at West Ham and Newcastle United was completely different. We changed three players and had a very strong team."

- Chelsea are reportedly looking at as many as five new players, according to the Daily Star.

- David Moyes remains confident of closing the gap in the Premier League title race - and has said Manchester United are ready to make new signings during the transfer window.

"I would say that I’d like to do something and I will try to do something," he said.

- Moyes is ready to battle Everton again for Leighton Baines with a fresh £16million bid this month, according to the Daily Mirror.

- Moyes is also considering a £20 million move for Luke Shaw in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Telegraph.

- Manchester City are ready to close in on Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic, according to Metro.

- Fulham are considering a bid for Ravel Morrison in the January window but face a battle to persuade him to leave West Ham, according to the Daily Mail.
