Carvalho to Liverpool FC? Vidic to Man Utd? Smalling to Arsenal FC?

- Liverpool have joined United in the chase for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, according to the Daily Star.

- Nemanja Vidic could be in line for a sensational return to Manchester United after failing to impress at Inter Milan, according to the Daily Express.

- Vidic is set to depart Inter Milan in January, according to Metro.

- Liverpool are set to make a £30million bid for Porto star Jackson Martinez in January, according to the Daily Express.

- Manchester United are planning to make a January swoop for Monaco left-back Layvin Kurzawa, according to the Daily Star.

- Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is ready to resist any offers for Fabian Delph and Ron Vlaar in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Telegraph.

- Simon Kjaer, who has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United, has said he will only consider a move away from Lille if the right club come in for him.

"The French championship is considered a good start for the Premier League," Kjaer, who according to French newspaper La Voix du Nord is of interest to the Red Devils, was quoted as saying by Tuttomercatoweb.

"But I am not going to leave just to play in England.

"I am too happy here, and so is my family. If I will have to leave, everything will have to be perfect. I won't leave just for a better salary."

- Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has put Chris Smalling back on his list of potential January signings to solve his defensive nightmare, according to the Daily Mirror.
