- Lille have insisted that Liverpool have not made an approach to recall Divock Origi from his loan spell.

"It's only a rumour," Lille coach Rene Girard told RTBF.

"There have been no approaches, as far as I know.

"It was agreed that Divock [will] spend the year with us. There's no reason he should leave midway through the season."

- Fenerbahce want to sign Manchester United striker Robin van Persie, according to the Daily Star.

- Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club have opened contract talks with Theo Walcott.

"We are starting to sit down with him," said Wenger.

"I think he has one and a half years to go on his contract in December and it is never an easy job with him, you know."

- Inter Milan are keen on Liverpool striker Fabio Borini, according to the Daily Mirror.

- Manchester City will go head-to-head with Bayern Munich in a £20million-plus battle for Germany winger Marco Reus at the end of the season, according to the Daily Mail.

- Diego Costa had a "moment of weakness" by leaving Atletico Madrid for Chelsea during the summer, according to club president Enrique Cerezo.

"He's one of the best strikers in the world," Cerezo told Radio4G.

"His departure was rushed through because he had a moment of weakness and he couldn’t say no.

"If the same were to happen now, he wouldn't leave.

"The financial side was not so great for us. We received around 50% of what had been discussed. It was more a matter of how much money he would receive."
