Louis van Gaal has hinted that Angel Di Maria could leave Manchester United this summer.

The Dutchman conceded that their record signing has struggled to settle and has not performed to the best of his ability.

He said: "The manager and the club is always dependable on the opinion of the player himself, the player decides, so we shall see what he decides.

"He cannot say that he has had a marvellous season here, he cannot say that."

United are said to have had a bid for Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij rejected.

The Metro claims Lazio turned down an offer of £18million for the centre-back and are keen to keep hold of the 23-year-old.

However, Man United may return with a counter offer as the Dutch international is said to be a favourite of Van Gaal's.

Arsenal have been knocked back in their pursuit of Valencia's Jose Luis Gaya as he looks set to pen a new deal in La Liga.

The contract will reportedly contain a £30m buyout clause, £17m more than his current deal which could prove too much for Arsene Wenger to match.

And Chelsea are said to be set to pounce with current left-back Filipe Luis looking for a move back to La Liga.

Liverpool will reportedly have to cough-up £30m to sign Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke in the summer.

Goal claim the Belgian international will command a hefty fee as he has finished the season in style, netting nine times in his last eight appearances.

And Aston Villa may be open to letting him go, with Tim Sherwood admitting if the price was right then he would cash in.
