Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Porto winger Yacine Brahimi according to Portuguese website O Jogo.

Should Chelsea get their man it would mean they have fought of interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool as well as some clubs from abroad such as Wolfsburg and AC Milan.

According to the Portuguese site the transfer is in its latter stages and the London club are hoping to complete the deal in the coming days.
Porto reportedly want £30m for Brahimi although due to their financial position they may be forced to sell for less with a more realistic figure of £15m being quoted.

Porto only own 50% of the players economic rights so will probably have to settle for less than that £30m with the club needing money to abide by the financial fair play rules.

Chelsea's interest in the Algerian likely stems from what they saw of the player when Porto played Chelsea in the group stages of this seasons Champions League.

Brahimi was man of the match when the pair met in Porto while he was one of Porto's stronger players again when they met at Stamford Bridge.
26-year-old Brahimi is naturally a left winger which may mean Antonio Conte is looking to increase the competition in the area despite the fact they already have Willian, Pedro and Hazard in those positions.

Brahimi himself scored 9 goals this season in 44 games in what was a very disappointing campaign for the usually impressive Porto.

His side finished third in the league behind winners Benfica and second placed Sporting Lisbon.
